Top 3 Bitcoin Trading Bots

[Total: 11   Average: 4.6/5]

In our test, we tested the common Bitcoin trading bots. In our experience, the following Bitcoin trading bots are best suited for trading. After the test we contacted the winner of our test. They do not have an official affiliate program, but we have agreed an exclusive partnership with our Nr. 1 Bitcoin Trading Bot to be able to offer interested parties at least a small discount of 10%. Exclusive because nobody else gets a discount on this provider. The placement is not a recommendation, it is our preferences and we explain exactly why.

The 3 best Bitcoin Trading Bots in comparison

Trading bots automate bitcoin and altcoin trading and making it an interesting source of revenue. So it’s possible that the robot works for you and generates revenue.

At this point it is clearly refrained from saying that an xx% return is possible with a trading bot. Often one reads on Trading Bots comparison pages exact percentages how much return the bot supposedly generates. This is total nonsense. You just can not get a percentage, because it depends on many factors. How is the bot set? How does the market behave? Or simply how much specialist knowledge the person have, who operate the trading bot?

A trading bot can be very lucrative and the special thing about it is that it happens automatically. So, you can deal with other things, for example to build up more revenue streams.

The comparison

In this comparison there are the 3 top Bitcoin trading bots. All have their own characteristics. “Margin” stands out with very good performance and is the winner in this comparison. But also “Cryptohopper” and the trading bot “Trade Santa” do quite well.

We still use all of the Bots for trading, just to let you know.

What criteria was evaluated?

In this comparison, the bots were rated according to the following criterias:

  1. User friendliness
  2. Setting diversity
  3. Price performance
  4. Which/How many exchanges are supported?
  5. Support

User friendliness 9.5/10

Margin scores the best in this category. The GUI is really great, anyone who is interested can get an idea of it by downloading the demo version. In addition, the homepage of margin is worth mentioning. This is very professional and simple structured, so that you can orientate oneself easily. The information you need is very easy to find and on the homepage you can also find tutorials, if you need an explanation about the platform. Overall, margin gets here 9.5/10 points!

Setting diversity 8.5/10

The possibilities of the settings are enormous. However, it is in a balance so that one retains the overview, especially as a beginner. The variety of settings is completely sufficient, but there are bots with significantly more bells and whistles. There are all known indicators for analysis and 4 strategies to choose from. In addition, you can still add “tabs” at the edge, such as Reddit, for example, to follow discussions on Bitcoin. Another cool option is adding RSS feeds. So there are points in time on the chart provided with a kind of flag, which symbolizes  special events. So you can understand why the course suddenly falls or rises and how serious this is. Overall, margin gets here 8.5/10 points!

Price performance 10/10

In the Price performance category, margin is also the best. In particular, by the fact that the bot is currently still offered with a discount, this is for what he offers reasonably priced. $ 129 will cost a lifetime license for the starter version. This is perfectly adequate for beginners. Overall, margin gets here 10/10 points!

Supported exchanges 9.5/10

Margin supports up to 17 exchanges (Absolutely amazing!). Of the compared patforms, this is the platform with the most exchanges. (Huobipro, Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Poloniax, OKcoin, HitBTC, Binance, Kraken, Coinbase Pro, CEX, Ethfinex, Coinone, OKEx, CGEX, Bleutrade, DRAGONex coming soon). Indeed, there are all exchanges only from the “standard” package for $ 259. Before that, the access to only one exchange is possible (which is completely sufficient for beginners). Overall, margin gets here 9.5/10 points!

Support 9/10

It is very remarkable that you can see the whole team of margin on the homepage. So you see who is behind it. This provides high transparency and creates a higher sense of security. Moreover, there are additional tutorial videos on the homepage if you want to take a closer look at how the bot works. Margin also offers e-mail support and promises, according to the homepage, a first-class support with questions of ambiguity. Overall, margin gets here 9/10 points!

Overall, margin comes to an average score of 9.3/10!

User friendliness 9/10

Here is the homepage very clearly structured, so that you can find your way around well. Although Cryptohopper does not offer a demo version, but 7 days free use. The trading platform is very attractive and offers, for example, the possibility to also look at statistics about the trades carried out. Overall, Cryptohopper gets 9/10 points here!

Setting diversity 9/10

Cryptohopper offers a lot of settings. However, you can’t see directly the parameters and strategies, which are adjusted, in the chart as it is e.g. at margin. Then you can experiment in the field “Backtesting” for example the max. profit that you would have achieved in the past choosing this settings. Overall, Cryptohopper gets 9/10 points here!

Price performance 8/10

For what Cryptohopper offers, the price is perfectly OK. However, compared to margin, Cryptohopper does somewhat poorly in this category. The starter version costs $ 19 a month here. Compared to margin, you could stay flexible with Cryptohopper and take a break every month, but the costs would increase every month, which would not happen with a lifetime license from margin.

Tip: If you choose Cryptohopper, it might be worthwhile to take out a 1-year membership, because then the monthly price drops significantly. The price for the “Explorer” package is now only $ 16.58 per month instead of $ 19 (almost 13% savings). For the “Adventurer” package, the monthly price drops from $ 49 to $ 41.58 (15% savings) and for the “Hero” package, the monthly price drops from $ 99 to $ 83.25 (savings almost 16%). So if you plan to use the bot for longer, the annual membership with reduced monthly payments could be worthwhile.

Overall, Cryptohopper gets 8/10 points here!

Supported exchanges 9.5/10

Cryptohopper supports 9 exchanges (Huobi, Binance, Poloniax, Bittrex, Coinbase Pro, Kraken, Bitfinex, KuCoin, Cryptopia). It does not matter which package you choose, you have access to all exchanges. Overall, Cryptohopper gets 9.5/10 points here!

Support 9/10

Cryptohopper offers e-mail support and video tutorials. They also write regularly on their own blog, which also contains a lot of useful information. Overall, Cryptohopper gets 9/10 points here!

Overall, Cryptohopper comes up with an average score of 8.9 /10!

Trade Santa bitcoin trading bot
User friendliness 9/10

Trade Santa is a very easy-to-use trading bot. You are guided through the configuration of the bot quite easily. It takes only 4 steps to configure the bot. It is also possible to go through these steps “virtually” in order to understand the process. This means that you don’t really connect your wallet directly with the bot, but theoretically goes through the process.

Trade Santa settings

The option with “Virtual Trading” is well suited to get to know the bot before a possible purchase. The option can be found both in the left sidebar and when you are already setting up a new bot. The user-friendliness is also rounded off by the fact that there is at least a 5-day trial version in which you can try out all functions.

We only see a small disadvantage in user friendliness in the fact that the bot can only be paid in cryptocurrency. In addition to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether are also available. That means you should already have exactly these cryptocurrencies in order to use this bot. Paying in bitcoins has its advantages and disadvantages. Since the crypto market is very volatile, the price is also quite volatile. Therefore we would prefer payment with Tether. Overall, Trade Santa only gets 9/10 points here!

Setting diversity 7,5/10

The bot is very simple and only the simplest trading indicators and tools can be found.

There are 2 simple trading strategies to choose from. It should be emphasized positively that these are visualized. That makes understanding easier.

Trade Santa Trading Bots

Trade Santa Trading also offers notifications via Telegram, as well as 24/7 support via the Telegram community. Overall, Trade Santa gets 7.5/10 points here!

Price performance 8/10

The cheapest “Minimum” package is already free. However, this is limited to a trading volume of up to $ 3,000 and up to 2 bots are allowed. The first paid package, which is called “Basic“, is available from just $ 14 a month, provided you opt for a 1-year membership. Already in this package there are no restrictions regarding the trading volume and the use of up to 49 bots is possible.

Trade Santa offers a specialty due to the cooperation with the crypto exchange HitBTC. Because there is an extra package called “HitBTC Promo“, which costs $ 21 for an annual membership and has the same advantages as the “Basic” package, but the special feature here is that HitBTC does not incur any trading fees. This can be a huge advantage if you want to trade a lot on this exchange. Transaction costs are the biggest profit killer when trading, so this deal might make sense for some users.

The most expensive package costs $ 70 a month and is called “Maximum“. The only advantage here is that there is an unlimited number of bots available. Overall Trade Santa gets 9/10 points here!

Supported exchanges 7/10

Trade Santa currently supports 6 exchanges (HitBTC, Bittrex, Binance, Bitfinex, UPbit and OKEX). Huobi and BitMEX will also be available soon. The number of exchanges is still expandable. We mainly miss Coinbase and Coinbase Pro. Overall, Trade Santa gets 7/10 points here!

Support 9/10

The FAQ are very detailed and clear. The system is also very well explained and above all visualized. The structure is very lean and simple, so that you can quickly find your way around as a newcomer. In addition, there are often hints on YouTube videos, where things are explained again. You have the opportunity to chat with employees on the homepage or to join the Telegram community to get help with the settings. Overall Trade Santa gets 9/10 points here!

Overall, Trade Santa comes to an average score of 8.1/10!

Conclusion

In summary, all 3 trading bots are good bots that are more or less suitable for one. Especially the trading bot from margin stands out with very good presentation and the price-performance ratio. It is perfect for beginners but also offers advanced packages.

If you don’t like margin, you can switch to the similar platform Cryptohopper.  Margin, Cryptohopper and Trade Santa can be tested before buying. Be it through a demo version or 5 to 7 free-day version.

Trade Santa, on the other hand, is a very simple bot that starts trading Bitcoin and co. very relieved. The functions and strategies are limited to the essentials, which means that the price for the bot is also very low.
